Objectives:

  • Review the correlations between the changes in the Indian diet and rates of chronic disease in India.
  • Review healthy aspects of a Mediterranean-style eating pattern.
  • Identify traditional Latin American foods and cooking techniques and healthier plant based alternatives.
  • Identify traditional foods prepared in the Southern US and healthier plant based alternatives.
  • Describe healthful aspects to traditional Japanese and Chinese eating patterns.

Identify traditional foods prepared in Native American culture. 

Requirements for successful completion: Participants will be awarded contact hours commensurate with participation after completion of the post-test with a score of 70% or higher.
