Objectives:

  • Describe muscle and liver insulin resistance. 
  • Identify the role of ectopic lipid accumulation for tissue specific insulin resistance.
  • Describe the role of muscle insulin resistance in the development of the metabolic syndrome.

Requirements for successful completion: Participants will be awarded contact hours commensurate with participation after completion of the post-test with a score of 70% or higher.
