Review the healthfulness of the traditional Latin American diet and cooking methods.

Participants are expected to watch the video, reflect on its content, and complete the CME self-assessment and CME evaluation. Only upon completing this process will a participant's continuing education certificate be generated. The estimated time a learner will need to complete this self-study activity is 60 minutes. 


This activity is approved for continuing education for physicians and dietitians.

Objectives:

  • Identify the agrarian food patterns in Latin America prior to the U.S. political and economic interventions of the last 100 years.
  • Describe the adverse health consequences of being flooded with industrialized and animal rich foods over the past century.
  • Describe and demonstrate how to prepare healthy plant-based recipes with key foods that are appealing to the Latino community.


Requirements for successful completion: Participants will be awarded contact hours commensurate with participation after completion of the post-test with a score of 70% or higher.
