Objectives:

  • Describe the basic biology of brain iron.
  • Evaluate the role of the blood brain barrier in limiting the regulating the supply of nutritional iron to the brain.
  • Evaluate the accumulation of iron throughout the lifespan as a contributor to aging and age-related diseases.

Requirements for successful completion: Participants will be awarded contact hours commensurate with participation after completion of the post-test with a score of 70% or higher.
